In 2015 Grace Farms River Building, designed by architects SANAA,will open. Tipped as one of Dezeen’s 15 buildings to look forward to in 2015, the River Building will take the form of flowing water, nestling in the Connecticut landscape.
Architect Kazuyo Sejima, co-founder and co-principal of SANAA, stated, “Our goal with the River is to make the architecture become part of the landscape. We hope that those who are on the property will have a greater enjoyment of the beautiful environment and changing seasons through the spaces and experience created by the River.”
Not only will the building mirror the natural surroundings, but it will act as a space to bring the community together: “We hope to offer people a special place to share a quiet walk through the meadows, enjoy coffee or an intimate concert, pitch in with helping others for a worthy cause or get in touch with the deepest questions about the meaning of our lives”
PATTERNITY eagerly awaits the completion of this innovative and reflective space, as it mirrors our mission to encourage people to step back, notice and contemplate their surroundings.
