In celebration of World Space Week, PATTERNITY looks to the skies, pairing inspiring intergalactic imagery with some of the ideas and reflections that space has inspired here on Earth. Like glancing out of a window at the world outside, our glimpses at the patterns of the cosmos are a humbling and eye-opening reminders of the position our world occupies in the vastness of space, and its fragility and dependence upon the wider universe.
As image-capturing technology has improved over the last century and man has ventured further into the unknown, our glimpses of space have become ever more detailed and intriguing. Communication satellites, including the International Space Station, have relayed more and more information and imagery back to Earth, allowing us to explore further, while underlining our home planet’s connection to the universe at large – and are the focus of World Space week 2014…
